Snow Shower

"Standing in a valley,
With the mist coming in,
Berries grow on the holly bushes.
Robins hide in snow-ridden woods.
If I could stay here, I would."
- Bethan Williams

Hilltops are now powdered with snow... and it's a wonderful sight in our place where it never snows. Everytime i go out, my eyes are straining in the distance... in all directions... to catch that immaculate light dusting... the cold winter kiss on the peaks. The sight instantly warms my heart for no apparent reason. The cherry blossom trees are still in their full-bloom, thought the incessant rain and the strong winds would have carried away the delicate flowers. The recent rainstorms have left a wake of the liveliest green on the slopes and tree tops.

Coincidently, the stores are also decked in green... in preparation for
St Patrick's Day(falls on March 17th this year)shopping. Feb,so far, has surprised compared to previous years, but it's been good so far, so no complaints, except for the sore throat!

Back for a change

Someone brought me back here... a place i had not only abadoned but note -"unhappily" forgotten about!!! At some point, it did'nt make sense, it felt... lonely, frankly. My sis shocked me by asking why i stopped writing here ... now that was news to me... that she reads it (???)... there was a time when i was begging her to throw a look here.. and ages after i had given up... she surprises me!

So there it is, i am back by popular demand...considering that she means to the world to me.

Another thing that shocked me as i came back on my blog is that my last post was exactly a year ago. So... what do i write about, now that i'm here? ...........

.......................................................................
Since a couple of days, i've been collecting beautiful gifts... the precious simple pleasures.

After a dreary and seemingly long winter, i was caught by surprise as i was rushing by... the bare branches of a cherry blossom tree in full bloom... all white flowers... and then i began to notice every day...more and more trees...at every corner... adorned in beauty. It fills my heart with a perfect "momentary" happiness. Tiny pockets of flowers here and there...everywhere i look.

Some other memories, i've locked away...

Hearing the wind howl at night
Falling asleep to the music of raindrops on the clay roof tiles
Taking that first breath of pure morning breeze
Dark thick black clouds on the horizon and a turquoise pool glimmering at my feet in the early morning light.
The sight of a flock of white birds flying far away against the back drop of pristine green hills
Soft sunlight at random on a dark day
To be able to look at the sun without squinting when it's powerful light is wrapped in smoky clouds
The panoramic view of hills after the rains
Flight calls of the canadian geese overhead
The beautiful sight of a full moon at twilight
To see the night sky in puddles of water

R was here... he's curious as to what i am upto.. he knows something is brewing... something's not normal. I've managed to buy few minutes to wrap up. So you know who else is going to be surprised?

Guess... do you think i am going to go now and let the cat out of the bag?
